Distillery Information

19 Crimes Martha's Chard is a Chardonnay wine produced by 19 Crimes. It was bottled in December 2021 and has a pH of 3.48 and an acidity of 5.79 g/L.
The 19 Crimes brand references the 19 crimes that resulted in automatic transportation to Australia's penal colonies between 1788 and 1868. These crimes included petty crimes like larceny, fraud, and destruction of property.
Martha Stewart played a large role in the development of 19 Crimes Martha's Chard. She aimed to create a Chardonnay that was clean, crisp, and flavorful without being too oaky or heavy. The wine is medium straw in color with hints of green at the edges.
It has bright citrus fruit on the nose, framed by a sweet oak character.
It has a round entry, with stone fruit notes and a toasty "sur-lies" character.
