The first cask strength version of Maker's 46 was released as a distillery-only bourbon in 2015. The expression was then revived again in 2021, and brought into a more regular production and distribution.Maker's Mark® began with one family's quest to create a bourbon they enjoyed drinking and sharing with friends. As the world's first premium bourbon, it changed the industry in 1953.
The aging process takes place in the distillery's limestone cellar, where the barrels are carefully rotated to ensure consistent flavor development. Maker's Mark ages its bourbon for around six to seven years, allowing it to acquire its signature taste and deep amber color.
